Chicken Steam Karahi- Very Popular Recipe to be Cooked Frankly at Home

This chicken recipe is also known as "Yogurt Chicken Steam Karahi" that is more delicious and wonderful by its unique taste. This is a famous recipe in Pakistan, but only on well-known and leading restaurants in Punjab. Anyways; many restaurants in Baluchistan and KPK are also making this unique and tasty recipe.

Key & Primary Ingredients:

You have to manage for given key and mandatory ingredients and use the spices in exact quantity for marinating and cooking process. Usually; you have to arrange for following ingredients in given quantity and ratio as well.

i) Big chicken pieces 8-10 (1.5 Kg)

ii) Yogurt 1/2  Kg

iii) Black pepper powder 1 TBS

iv) Ginger-Garlic paste 2 TBS

v) Turmeric powder 1 Tsp

vi) Lemon Juice 2 TBS

vii) Salt 1 Tsp or up to taste

viii) Coriander powder 1 Tsp

ix) Cumin powder 1 Tsp

x) White Vinegar 2 TBS

xi) Red Chili Flakes 1 Tsp

xii) Cooking oil 1/2 cup

Cooking Directions:

Now, it is time  to start cooking of chicken steam karahi and you must follow all given steps accurately. This will let you make the best and tastiest Chicken Steam Karahi with an authentic look and natural flavor.

1-Wash chicken pieces and pour into fresh water and add 2 TBS vinegar for 15 minutes

2-Now, dry chicken pieces and start making marinating mixture

3-Take a bowl and add yogurt, turmeric powder, ginger-garlic paste, lemon juice, coriander powder, black pepper powder, red chili flakes, cumin powder and salt

4-Whisk all these ingredients regularly until they get a uniform look

5-Do deep cuts on chicken pieces and add all big sized chicken pieces in this mixture and whisk again

6-Now, you should keep this marinated chicken in fridge for 2-3 hours at least

7-Place a big cooking pan on stove and turn on flame and add cooking oil to warm it

8-Add marinated chicken and let it fry deeply for 3 minutes

9-Pour remaining marinated mixture in the pan and cover with a lid for 15-18 minutes on medium flame

10-Remove the lid and keep flame high for  5 minutes and cook the chicken properly

11-Check tenderness of chicken and make sure if it is well cooked or not yet

12-Reduce flame to low, simmer it for 2-3 minutes and turn off flame

13-Dish out this dish, garnish with Julian cutting ginger and green chili and bring to serve

Total servings 4-6 persons

Serve this chicken karahi to your guests with Roti or Naan and with salad.
